BBC Spotlight turned up at the Bulley Cleaves recycling centre in Buckfastleigh today to film a short item on the campaign against the closure of the site.

Despite the short notice, (around 2 hours) four members of the Buck The Trend Committee and a number of other local people turned up to show their support for the campaign. Some of them even had time to make their own banners!

Buckfastleigh Town Councillor Graham Squires was given the opportunity to voice the concerns of the local community, and a number of people turning up with waste were also asked for their opinion.

The item was shown on BBC Spotlight at 17:50 this evening (Sunday 30th January) and can be seen here.

Coincidently, local MP Mel Stride visited the recycling centre with a carload of recycling whilst BBC Spotlight were there. Mr Stride did mention that he would be in contact with the Leader of Devon County Council to ask that all possibilities are fully considered in terms of attempting to keep the site open.

If you want to help the campaign to keep the Bulley Cleaves recycling centre open then please write to the Devon County Councillors and Teignbridge District Councillors that are mentioned on our previous post.
