    1) BTT AGM – pot-luck supper & fireside chat –  Friday 4th Sept, 7pm @ Waycotts Orchard
    Buck the Trend welcome you to join us in a chance to catch-up and share some food at Belinda and Neil’s land in Merrifield Road just at the end of Jordan St. We’ll get through the official stuff as quickly as we can, and then have a chance to share information and find out what’s going on, and share some food… Outdoors if the weather permits, under cover if not.

    2) Community Composting group meeting @ Town Hall – September TBA
    The Community Composting Group will be meeting some time early in September to plan the details of the proposed local scheme, supported by the Town Council and Nicky Scott of Proper Job. A date has not yet been set because of members on holiday, but contact Andy (info@buckthetrend.info) if you want to be a part of it. Those who signed up at the public meeting will be notified as soon as we have a date…

    3) Edible Open Gardens day – 21st September @ Waycotts Orchard
    Come and visit Belinda and Neil at Waycotts Orchard and find out more about the garden, volunteering, Forest School, permaculture, and new project ‘Food Forever’. Join in with digging, tea drinking or just enjoying a piece of cake in the outdoors.

    4) Transition Conference – 18th-20th September @ Seale Hayne

    5) Organic Gardening Level 1 –  starts 18th Sept @ Dartington School Farm
    35 week course (every Friday from 18th Sept to 1st July) aimed at those who would like to learn to grow organic vegetables, to either progress into a career in organic growing or to grow their own food sustainably. Costs £450 but low cost places available to low income…

    6) Buckfastleigh Food Festival – Sunday 4th October 1pm-4pm @ St Luke’s Church
    Belinda and Buck-the-Trend in conjunction with The Seed & St Lukes Church are holding the Buckfastleigh Food Festival – a celebration of local food & drink. Get in touch with Belinda directly or via info@buckthetrend.info if you would like to get involved in helping out or would like a stall on the day.

    7) Life Drawing Class -Tue 15th September 7.30 – 9.30pm @ Jellyfish
    Contact Nathilde to book a place (four sessions £28 per person). Other sessions 20th October, 17th November and 15th December. Please bring your own materials

    8) Women’s Support Group  – Tuesday Evenings starting 29th Sept @ Jellyfish
    “Awakening in the Woman’s Body” with Agata Krajewska
    Five Tuesday evenings 7:30pm to 9:30pm, 29th Sept – 3rd Nov (no group Oct 20th). Slidng scale £55-£45 for the series.

    9) Seed Talks/workshops start Thursday 17th September @ Jellyfish

    10) Shoe Drive  – 1st – 20th  September @ Methodist Church, Chapel Street
    The (Gambia Fellowship Asscn and Seed Sowers) Shoe Drive will take place from 1st – 20th September (inclusive). Please bring old and unwanted shoes to your local Methodist Church, Chapel Street, Buckfastleigh (no flip flops or wellies). Donated shoes will be recycled – either sent to the Third World if wearable or turned into whatever old shoes can be made into!
    The money received for the collection will be used to buy new school shoes for children in Africa.

    11) Buckfastleigh Town Council General meeting – September 9th 7:30-9:30 pm, Town Hall
    Everyone’s welcome to come along to our new open-style meetings and find out what the new Town Council is up to… You will be able to find the agenda posted on the Town website http://www.buckfastleigh.gov.uk/ 5 days before the meeting. We are trying to keep the formal element of these meetings to the legal minimum and make them more accessible to the townsfolk.

    12) South Dartmoor Cycling Strategy Group (or Better South Dartmoor Cycling)
    The Town council and BTT members have initiated a group to look at improving resources for cycling and cyclists in the S Dartmoor area (and beyond). Consisting of representatives from S. Brent and Ashburton, SUSTRANS and other local organisations/businesses with an interest in cycling & e-bikes. If you would be interested in taking part in the next meeting in October please get in touch and let Andy know who you are and what your interest is info@buckthetrend.info
