The planning inspector today returned his decision to support DCC in their refusal of planning permission to MVV/Gilpins attempt to site a waste processing plant for Incinerator Bottom Ash from the proposed incinerator at Devonport in the town.
This means the town will remain free of hundred of lorries, blasting and dust, thanks to the tremendous effort of everyone in the town to fight this for the last two years.

‘The Seed’ – new wholefood store and café in town…

The Seed is a new social enterprise in Buckfastleigh located next to Plum hairdressers on Fore St, which is aiming to make nourishing wholesome food available for everyone at a price they can afford.The wholefood store will be selling a variety of items both food and non-food at more affordable prices and the café will be providing refreshments and a daily meal comprising of a few healthy delicious dishes sold on a ‘what you can afford’ basis.
